Essentially, this is a straight up first person shooter with a few bits and bobs tacked on to make things feel a little more spy-like. Treyarch has produced a serviceable product, but it's not one that any serious gamer should really consider wasting their valuable gaming hours on when there are so many better games out there this Christmas - and that includes Treyarch's own Call of Duty: World at War, which is superior to Quantum of Solace in every way. We didn't boot up Quantum of Solace with that cynicism already in place, but arrived to our conclusion after knocking off the game in a day's play. It looks like Bond, sounds like Bond, moves like Bond and does just what it's supposed to: fill a gap on the marketing checklist for the new film. What we have here is a predictable piece of movie licensed action gaming that's mostly about appearances.
